Americans flew to the Japanese islands, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. The first raid dropped heavy bombs to destroy infrastructure, the second raid light everything on fire, the third raid dropped shrapnel bombs to prevent firefighters from putting out the fire which all together killed over 100 000 Japanese civilians.
